Why learning design?
“Endlessly curious” would be an accurate descriptor of me as a kid (and still pretty accurate now). I have always enjoyed trying to ask good questions, which often leads to new insight and growth.
The world is a fascinating place if we allow ourselves to continuously learn and adapt. In my professional life, this curiosity, combined with a knack for clear communication and a genuine desire to help others, has naturally made me the go-to person for:
Training co-workers on new software and business processes
Crafting sleek, easy-to-grasp reference guides
Executing strategic communications
Creating job-aids in the form of engaging videos, infographics, and simulations
My love for dispensing information so that it becomes new knowledge only intensified as I focused on instructional design within my Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program.
These days, I feel lucky to be in a career where I can help individuals and organizations level up while also flexing my creativity, every day.
What’s it like working with me?
Treating others with respect and kindness is my first priority as a human being and colleague. And in this industry, building authentic relationships with SMEs and stakeholders can make all the difference between an effective learning product and one that falls short.
When collaborating as a project manager, I ensure there is a structured pathway and timeline to success. On days I get to create, learn, and tie it all together into a high-quality result that will help others, I’m in my happy place.
What are my core strengths?
Storytelling
Good stories are the most powerful thing in the universe! They are especially effective for learning.
Empathy
This helps me understand learners and their pain points.
Clear communication
I enjoy simplifying complex concepts so they’re accessible for all.
Cohesive visual design
When learners can intuitively navigate and even enjoy the learning experience, they have more cognitive reserves to integrate the actual content.
What energizes me?
Working with cutting-edge technology
Connecting with others from diverse backgrounds
Crafting curated experiences that motivate and awe others
Time in nature
Appreciating music, film, and books
